3/16/2017 0 Comments LIVE PROJECTSo it has been over a week since we finished our live project with the interior company Romo. Our team 'Nexus' (meaning a connection/link) worked extremely hard to create a final collection that was coherent and forward thinking. The team was made up of a weaver (Alice), an embroider (Kirsty) and two printers (Beth and myself).
We wanted the idea of connections and links to come across with the incorporation of geometric patterns focusing on honeycomb shapes in particular. We came up with some wallpaper designs to fit alongside the fabric samples as well as creating embroidered trimmings in different colour ways as well as combing print with woven samples. We presented to the company and had a very positive response to the work we had produced and we were awarded 'Highly Commended Group' and I was chosen for a placement at their design studios. This is such an exciting opportunity to gain experience in the industry and learn some new skills! Here is a selection of my work for the project as well as our final team collection. Hooray for Nexus!
